Pat Egan for Cloverland Electric Cooperative

District B

Let’s create an open independent Cloverland Board of Directors. Your choice can help assure inexpensive rates, safe, dependable energy, and a strong future.

biography

Pat Egan has been an active community member and a Cloverland member/owner for over 35 years. He and Debra Gustafson Egan live on Whitefish Bay after moving from the Sault in 1998. He started as a beat reporter who eventually owned and published the Evening News in the Sault until 1990. From 2010 to 2018 he served as LSSU trustee and board chairman where he helped start and complete the Center for Freshwater Research and Education (CFRE) next to the Edison hydro plant. That cooperative effort still produces best-educated fish biologists as well as annual Atlantic salmon runs.

Vision

Cloverland is ours. It needs to stay independent and it needs ethical, strong decision makers. Rates can stay low and avoid the huge increases of other Upper Peninsula energy companies by creating its own energy supply, as it has for over a century. Buying energy from lower Michigan and Wisconsin (WE Electric in Wisconsin, a supplier to the U.P., announced an application for a 15% increase) takes our choices away.

I won’t take a board meeting fee.

I admire the competence and ability of the Cloverland family of workers.

Our local energy future is on the table and we are in a great position to grow into it. Your voice and your thoughts on that will be heard.
